USE AS PIPE HDPE PIPE UNDER CONSTRUCTION PLTMH

Along with the increasing prices of steel components are commonly used as Penstock (pipe pest) in the construction of Power Plant Mini Hydro, it is necessary to substitute alternative materials to the above. Our Chairman (Mr. Achmad Kalla) tried to innovate by making use of HDPE pipe in pipe construction PLTM Mappung rapidly. The use of HDPE pipes with consideration:

1. HDPE pipe has a weight of material that is relatively lighter than steel, making it easier for material handling at the site, considering the construction of hydropower plants relatively more in the mountains.

2. HDPE pipe is relatively easy in joint, because the only use the heating system to connect (butt joint).

3. HDPE pipe is relatively cheaper than steel pipe.

4. HDPE pipes have the ability to withstand the pressure to 6.3 bar. In this case, HDPE pipe can be used as rapidly in the construction of pipe that has PLTM head from 0 to 50 meters.
